India
A month ago I returned back to Kamloops after 3.5 months in India. Today as for most days, I can say that I truly miss India. I miss the chaos, the animals, the food, the bargaining and the people. I especially miss the people. The Indian people, from the very poor to the very rich, have such an amazing spirit. Unlike us here in North America, Indian people are very content with their lot in life. Isn't it interesting that as we westermers strive to acquire more - more things, bigger houses, more expensive cars, it is the Indian philosophies, ways, and traditions that we turn to to acquire what we really want - peace - inner peace and happines; things that can't be bought with money or aren't ultimately satiated with material wealth. It seems that Indian people are thankful what for what they do have and happy for anything extra. There are so many people who stand out for me and who taught me so much. I can't wait to go back to renew my new friendships and make more. I advise anyone who is going to India to take the time to talk to the people - all of the people. While many go to India for the sites, it really is the people that have made and do make up India.
